2011 City of Oxford Burnsite ScheduleLocation: 1 mile south of Oxford on South Oxford Road
Open: Saturdays -- 9 AM to 4 PM Dates as follows: March 5th and 19th April 2nd and 16th April 9th City Wide Clean-up May 7th and 21st June 4th and 18th July 2nd and 16th August 6th and 20th September 3rd and 17th October 1st and 15th November 5th and 19th December 3rd The burnsite is available to all local residents. Materials allowed at the burnsite are: Limbs, trees, branches, leaves, grass clippings, bushes and shrubs, and tree debris such as pine cones, nuts, acorns, etc. Unpainted lumber will also be accepted if the nails have been pulled. No cardboard, boxes or plastic bags can be disposed of at this site. If yard waste is transported in these containers, the natural debris must be emptied and the container removed from the burnsite. Household appliances, furniture, trash, tires, car parts, dirt, shingles, roofing or siding, glass, tin, metal, and animal waster will not be accepted. If you need to request a time other than those scheduled, you may contact the city office at 455-2223 or John Cooney at 455-2455 to schedule a time. The fee for a private opening is five dollars per trip, payable at the time. If you operate a commercial business the fee is ten dollars per trip/per load. |
