The burnsite is available to all local residents. Materials allowed at the burnsite are: Limbs, trees, branches, leaves, grass clippings, bushes and shrubs, and tree debris such as pine cones, nuts, acorns, etc. Unpainted lumber will also be accepted if the nails have been pulled. No cardboard, boxes or plastic bags can be disposed of at this site. If yard waste is transported in these containers, the natural debris must be emptied and the container removed from the burnsite.
Household appliances, furniture, trash, tires, car parts, dirt, shingles, roofing or siding, glass, time, metal and animal waste will not be accepted.
If you need to request a time other than those scheduled, you may contact the city office at 620-455-2223 or John Cooney at 620-455-2455 to schedule a time. The fee for a private opening is per trip, payable at the time. If you operate a commercial business the fee is per trip/per load.
