KANSAS OPEN RECORDS ACT


 

The Kansas Open Records Act (K.S.A.  45-215, et seq.) provides that "each governing body of a public agency in Kansas shall designate a local freedom of information officer." The City of Oxford has designated its Freedom of Information Officer to simplify the process of accessing records for inspection and/or copying.

A written request for record must be submitted.  Most records will be produced within three business days.  Please note that the City of Oxford does charge a fee to assemble the requested information.  The fee covers the cost of staff time, as well as, the cost of copying or reproducing the record.  If you have any questions please contact:

Resolutions
Ordinances
Minutes from open meetings
Salaries of public officials
Budgets


Records that are exceptions include:

Personnel records
Medical treatment records
Records protected by the client-attorney privilege
Records containing information gathered in the Census
Notes and preliminary drafts
Criminal investigation records
Other specific records
