⛈️ Severe Storms Cause Damage in Oxford; More Expected Later ⛈️
Oxford experienced severe storms early this morning that caused significant damage throughout the community. High winds brought down several large trees, limbs, and power lines. On the west side of town, two Evergy utility poles were snapped during the storm. Evergy crews were quickly dispatched and have been working to replace the damaged poles and restore service.
The City’s utility crew has been hard at work since the early hours, assisting with power restoration efforts and working alongside Evergy to get services back up and running as quickly and safely as possible.
Residents are advised to remain alert, as additional rounds of severe weather are possible this afternoon and evening. Please take precautions, secure any outdoor items, and stay indoors during warnings.
