Oxford is a historic small town located in Sumner County, Kansas on Highway 160 with a population of approximately 1,000 residents. Oxford has been named a TREE CITY USA since 1992. The town site sits on the west bank of the Arkansas River. Cave Park is located on the east side of town, and offers a playground area for children, a covered shelter, and a public access, paved boat ramp to the Arkansas River.     City Council Appoints Officer Freeman to Sergeant

    The City of Oxford is proud to announce the appointment of Officer Freeman to the rank of Sergeant, effective immediately. This decision, made by the Oxford City Council, reflects Sergeant Freeman’s unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of our community.

    Since joining the Oxford Police Department, Sergeant Freeman has demonstrated exceptional dedication, professionalism, and leadership. Her hard work and tireless efforts in serving and protecting Oxford’s residents have not gone unnoticed. Whether responding to emergencies, assisting citizens, or working to strengthen community relations, Sergeant Freeman has consistently gone above and beyond in her duties.

    The City of Oxford congratulates Sergeant Freeman on this well-earned promotion and thanks her for her continued service. We look forward to her leadership in this new role as she remains dedicated to keeping our community safe. 🚔👮‍♀️
