Oxford is a historic small town located in Sumner County, Kansas on Highway 160 with a population of approximately 1,000 residents. Oxford has been named a TREE CITY USA since 1992. The town site sits on the west bank of the Arkansas River. Cave Park is located on the east side of town, and offers a playground area for children, a covered shelter, and a public access, paved boat ramp to the Arkansas River. There has been an increase in storage unit break-ins across Sumner County. If you own or rent a storage unit, please check it regularly for any signs of tampering or unauthorized access.

If you discover a break-in, call 911 immediately to file a report. Community awareness and timely reporting help reduce crime and protect property.

As the weather warms up and more children are outside playing, we want to remind all motorists that speed limits within town are 20 MPH unless otherwise posted. Please remain alert and drive cautiously to help keep everyone safe this summer.

Vehicle Registration Reminder

If you have a vehicle parked on a public roadway, it must have:

  • Valid registration
  • Current insurance

Vehicles that do not meet these requirements may be subject to ticketing and/or towing.
