Friday, June 13, 2025 / Oxford News π± Adventures in Mowing: Devin vs. The Swamp π οΈπ§οΈ Ah, summer. Birds chirping π¦, grass growing faster than teenagers π, and rain… lots of rain β. And no one has felt the wrath of the weather more than our brave mower-in-chief, Devin ππͺ. This week, Devin set out like any lawn warrior would — mower blades spinning, mission clear: tame the wild green jungles of our town πΎ. But Mother Nature had other plans π§οΈπ . Thanks to some ambitious rainfall, several areas were less "grass" and more "bog" πΈ. And let's just say Devin found some of them. One moment he was cruising confidently π¨ across the turf, the next — squelch — the mower sank into a surprise mud pit π³οΈ like it was auditioning for a nature documentary π₯π¦. But don’t worry — we’ve had a trusty tow crew π (and possibly a canoe πΆ) on standby to fish him out each time. He’s fine. A little muddier π§½. Maybe slightly traumatized by the sound of squishy grass π¬. But fine.. With more rain in the forecast π§οΈπ§οΈπ§οΈ, we’re considering outfitting Devin with floatation devices π or relocating him to higher ground ποΈ. π¬ We’ll continue to post updates if (or let’s be honest — when) Devin’s muddy adventures continue. Stay tuned for more mowing drama! π¬πΎ Previous Article Prayer and Action Brings a Wave of Kindness to Oxford
