Revenue Neutral Rate & 2027 Budget Hearing

The Governing Body of the City of Oxford will meet on August 25, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall, 115 S. Sumner St., Oxford, KS 67119, to conduct a public hearing on the City's proposed intent to exceed the Revenue Neutral Rate and a public hearing on the proposed 2027 budget. These hearings will be conducted jointly.

The City's Revenue Neutral Rate is 45.267 mills, and the City is proposing a 2027 tax rate of 50.475 mills. The purpose of the Revenue Neutral Rate hearing is to provide taxpayers an opportunity to present oral testimony regarding the City's proposed intent to exceed the Revenue Neutral Rate.

The purpose of the 2027 Budget hearing is to hear and answer objections of taxpayers relating to the proposed use of all funds and the amount of ad valorem tax proposed to finance the 2027 budget.

Detailed budget information is available for public inspection at City Hall, 115 S. Sumner St., Oxford, KS 67119, and will be available at the hearing.

The proposed 2027 budget expenditures and the amount of ad valorem tax establish the maximum limits of the 2027 budget. The final tax rate is subject to change depending upon the final assessed valuation certified by Sumner County.
