π³ Cave Park Tree Work Underway π³ Cave Park Tree Work Underway Wednesday, October 1, 2025 Oxford News If you’ve been in Cave Park lately, you may have noticed π² tree work happening on the west side of the park. Unfortunately, the last several years of drought ππ§ have taken their toll, and some of the park’s trees didn’t survive. Our Utility Maintenance Crew π·βοΈπ·βοΈ has been hard at work removing the dead trees ahead of winter βοΈ. Earlier this year, Kody Kraemer with the Kansas Forest Service πΎπ² surveyed the trees we were most concerned about. He explained that the recent weather patterns π¦οΈ had especially stressed certain species, leaving them vulnerable to disease π¦ and insect damage π. While it’s always sad π to see trees come down, this is also an opportunity for renewal π±. Clearing these damaged trees will make space for new plantings π³πΌ that will begin in the spring πΈ, ensuring Cave Park continues to be a healthy, shady place π€οΈ for our community to enjoy for years to come β€οΈ.
